Our club and philosophy will be somewhat different from the other options you might be exploring as we believe passionately that existing member satisfaction is a more essential business requirement than selling new memberships. Fortunately, there is ample evidence to support that position empirically, both through our internal monthly member satisfaction ratings as well as our annual membership survey conducted by a leading independent research company, PeopleMetrics. In each, our overall membership satisfaction ratings exceed 96%, a metric that PeopleMetrics defines as "World Class."
Why are the ratings so high? First, we don't believe that bigger is better in this line of business. Yes, we believe in growth but sensibly. Too many members and not enough premier resort real estate is a recipe for disaster and one we have resisted since we introduced Private Escapes nearly two years ago. Rather, we are obsessed by the correct ratio of homes to members that are instrumental to the integrity of our occupancy model. Ours is the only resort real estate model that purposely underutilizes real estate assets to help facilitate easy access and availability. Our objective is for 50% or less average occupancy throughout our portfolio which translates to a wide choice of options for our members. Have a burning desire to go play golf where it's warm and sunny? Your personal Escape Planner might suggest our homes at The Abaco Club in the Bahamas or Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic or PGA West in La Quinta, California or perhaps Cabo Del Sol in Los Cabos, Mexico. With occupancy levels averaging 50% or less, you'll have several great choices. How about a beach getaway? Or a great weekend in the city? Perhaps a few days of pampering at one of our spa residences? As a member of Private Escapes Destination Clubs, you can choose them all.
Our members are nomadic, seeking more experiences and choices than owning a single second home provides. And they want to come and go as they please, without the headaches of second home maintenance.
